Renovations Continue

We have all of our electrical working, the lower cabinets in place, the granite guys measured and a few set backs (leaky gutters and water inside instead of out due to weather)... but all in all it is going well and the kitchen should look great when done! to the left of the stove will be a barstool area

Ray came up and helped out (love the free labor)

Cate and her cuddle buddy Izzie

well, if Izzie can cuddle on the pillows you know that Nettie will have to join in the fun!

Cate has the "what you looking at" look!

Caught Reading!

While I cook- Cate loves keeping herself entertained in her baby einstein chair. I put her book that Grandma G gave her on her chair and when I looked back she had it wedged in her seat and was reading it like we do to her. It was so cute (even upside down)!

Cate calls to Izzie!

We should have figured her first real word would be Izzie! Izzie is the neediest dog that we have ever met, she is always looking for attention (which we love about her) and we are always saying. "Izzie get down", so we should have known that Cate would say her name first.

Now all of the dogs are Izzie!

February 14th, 2010

I thought it was time to try and take some photos of Cate on her first Valentine's day and as she turns 8 months old! Well, this is the only one that I got where she would even attempt to smile, all she wanted was the camera and the dogs! Daddy's little Sweetheart!
I thought I could get one if I sang if you're happy and you know it... but nope! Cute tongue and clapping only...

This is what Dustin calls "the look from Mommy"... I think she is done!

The freezing pups! I walked to the mailbox and back and almost lost a few fingers!

Sam almost blew away too!

no more swings!

Here is a little video clip of Cate from January, when we got home from NY I put her in the swing in order to do some cooking and she kept stopping it and wanting out. She thought it was such a fun game! We put it up soon after this.

Bitter!

While at the beach, Cate got to go out to the ladies luncheon! Well, I always though Grandmothers were supposed to be caring and sweet, well not this one! Grammy introduced Cate to BITTER! She is liking it at first...

even smiling through the bite

BUT then it hits her,

and here it is the bitter taste of lemon, she did go back for more after this though...

First weekend in February

SHE WANTS TO CRAWL!!
Ready Mom... here I go...

almost there, I know what to do,

Almost!
Knowing that the weather was going to be bad, I packed up Cate Thursday night and headed to the beach~ I will take the rain over the snow anyday! Here Cate is being cute enjoying the day!

So interested in every small detail - always smiling!
Or trying to put her feet in her mouth!

Bundled up for the drive home... back to the COLD!

Renovations Begin!

With the winter winds still blowing, we have started the renovations to the kitchen, electrical and basement. Being home from school has been helpful, allowing Dustin to do some of the demo and saving us some money for our big ticket items! Even Cate has been good spirited throughout the process! No more back wall and dog area in the entryway!
No more HUGE fridge in the middle of the kitchen taking up space, our granite counters will have a breakfast bar here!

Cool Cate!

Taking out the wall, D at his best! He is the man!

As the freezing rain comes down...

I am sitting inside, yet again home from school and I start to sing if you're happy and you know it to Cate. We introduced clapping on Sunday and here she is doing it on her own! Seeing Cate grow and change, while being home with her makes all of this rain and snow disappear!
