Cate turned 1 on the 16th of June in Myrtle Beach surrounded by family and friends. We had such a great time with family from VA, NC friends and the bunch from SC! Here are some pictures from the wonderful day. We thank everyone for making Cate's day so wonderful and we are so happy to be blessed with such a fantastic family who love and suport us!The Princess chair and cupcake tower!

Cate's 1st time in the Big Pool!

We haven't taken Cate in a pool yet, she has been in lakes and rivers (oh and the tub) but not a pool. After this trip it has been decided that we sign her up for swim lessons asap! She loves the water and we love seeing her splash around and play!

The homefront!

So far we have gotten the upstairs floors down, the lower moldings in and the rooms painted... next step is upper molding, tile back splash and then we will be finished upstairs and ready to move downstairs... that will be great~
the rolling cart is our moving tool holder at the moment (it is being rolled into the basement)

MY GARDEN IN FULL BLOOM! I never thought that I would be able to produce so much and it is really so enjoyable to have (this little spot is about all I can handle). I am happy that we will have peas, broccoli, peppers, cuc's and squash. I planted a few of Christy's mystery plants and we will find out what they are soon (I am thinking that they are pumpkins but we will soon see)!

My idea of terrace farming (the squash plants took over last year so they have their own level)

If you are happy and you know it clap your hands never gets old with a 1 year old!!
She loves to hug aka "snuggle" with any stuffed animal that she comes across... this is her kiss before the bite and mouthful of fur!

Loves spinach spaghetti

Mud!

After a long walk down to the neighbors, Rita took Cate down the steps into the New River for her first time. She LOVED it and we loved watching her wiggle her toes in the water- then she reached in and found the mud. It was just in her fingers at first then she stuck it in her mouth- EWWW she didn't like that so much... but it was well worht the look on her face!

eating with her fork

Cate decided that she was going to start feeding herself today and she won't let anyone else feed her. She is finally starting to repeat the sounds of the animals that we have been reading. She now has a vocabulary of about 15 words and it's growing more and more each day; we love to see her change daily! I am so happy to be on break and look forward to a trip to the Outer Banks to camp and then onto Ocracoke Island for a night. We will end in Myrtle for Cate's birthday. I am excited that there will be friends from NC visiting that will be able to come to the party.

Summer is here and here are a few pics of the yard!

These are called Salomon's Seal... we think we'll keep them (they're considered a weed)
